League Statement
We regret to announce that DayWalkers have been officially removed from the Maryland League following repeated violations of league policies. The club’s removal is a result of
1. Failure to Pay Fees: DayWalkers failed to pay a mandatory $500 league fee despite multiple reminders and extensions.
2. Non-Payment of Referees: The club also failed to fulfill their financial obligations to referees, an essential component of maintaining the integrity and fairness of our matches.
3. Abuse Toward League Officials: Repeated instances of verbal and behavioral abuse directed at league officials were reported and verified, violating the league’s strict code of conduct.
As a result, the following sanctions have been enforced:
1. Immediate Removal: DayWalkers are no longer participants in the Maryland League Fall 2024 season.
2. Point Deduction: All points previously earned by DayWalkers have been nullified.
3. Void Matches: DayWalkers’ results will no longer count toward the league standings to ensure fairness for other teams.
The Maryland League prides itself on fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and accountability. Clubs are required to meet their financial obligations and adhere to the league’s code of conduct, which explicitly prohibits abusive behavior and ensures fair treatment for officials, players, and staff alike.
This decision, though unfortunate, reflects the league’s dedication to maintaining a competitive and respectful atmosphere for all participants. Let this serve as a reminder that the Maryland League holds all clubs to the same high standards and will not tolerate violations that compromise the integrity of our competition.
