Real Bestia 1 – 6 DayWalkers (Sep 29, 2024) Final Score covers the action for Matchweek one September 28 – October 5, 2024.
Matchweek One of the Maryland League Fall 2024 kicked off with an exciting encounter between Real Bestia CF and DayWalkers at Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Park on Matchday One Saturday, September 29th. Both teams, eager to start the season on a high note, brought their flair and determination to the field.
DayWalkers kicked off their Maryland League Fall 2024 campaign in spectacular fashion with a stunning 6-1 victory over Real Bestia CF. This dominant performance sent a clear message to the rest of the league: DayWalkers are a force to be reckoned with. A combination of clinical finishing, relentless pressing, and pinpoint passing left Real Bestia overwhelmed, especially in a second half where DayWalkers took full control.
The match began with high intensity, and it was John Jean, player manager of DayWalkers, who etched his name into the history books with the first goal of the season. A corner routine from the training grounds with Josue Machado sneaking a pass to John Jean to run freely into the real bestia box for an open shot at goal, giving his side an early 1-0 advantage.
Real Bestia CF responded admirably, and soon Rigers Hasani pulled them level. Israel Avelar played a beautiful ball over the top down the right flank for Rigers Hasani to chase. Rigers Hasani still had work to do after a well-timed run he carried the ball and calm finish leveled the score at 1-1, and the game went into halftime finely balanced. The first half seemed like a balanced affair, with both sides showing flashes of promise, but the second half would tell a very different story.
If the first half was evenly contested, the second was a masterclass from DayWalkers. They came out of the locker room with renewed vigor, and it didn’t take long for Nissi Awowole-Browne to stamp his authority on the game. Assisted twice by the creative Carlos Rendon, Awowole-Browne put DayWalkers in full control with back-to-back goals that stunned Real Bestia, making it 3-1.
DayWalkers were far from done. Awowole-Browne turned provider next, teeing up Alfaro to extend the lead to 4-1. With Real Bestia’s defense in disarray, Wilmer Duran added another goal, making it 5-1 and all but sealing the match.
Late in the second half, Carlos Rendon, already with three assists, continued his outstanding play. His brilliant delivery found Nelson Edwardo , who added the final goal with a sublime finish, cementing the 6-1 result and a dominant opening day performance.
